Lunch at ATL - One Flew South

Billed as the first "upscale dining experience at the world's busiest airport," One Flew South is a lovely-looking sushi place with average food and airport prices.

(more after the jump)

I was on my way to Helsinki (the flight plan was MSY-ATL, ATL-AMS, AMS-HEL. My flight from home to ATL came in on "B" and the plane headed to Amsterdam was on "E" so I made my way to the back. I encountered One Flew South just before the main hallway leading to the gates. My original intention was to eat a "real" meal at the TGI Friday's on "E" rather than hit the food court, so this new place caught my eye.

OFS has Anchor Steam! Even if all you do is hit the bar, it's worth it for a quieter atmosphere and Anchor Steam.

I started with the onion soup (top). It had a potato croquette in it as a garnish. The soup was tasty.

Spicy tuna roll. Fresh, well-made, but not spicy at all.

OFS is pricy: $8 for the soup, $14 for the roll, and $7 for the beer. They already add a 18% gratuity to the check, so it's pay-and-go.

As food at ATL goes, One Flew South beats TGI Fridays and Chili's. Pricy, but, hey, it's an airport.
