Lunch at Catch on Magazine

Catch on Urbanspoon

There are some phrases that totally get my attention, and a twitter-friend posted one recently:

Crabmeat and Four Cheese Pizza

Yeah, that's right. I absolutely had to find out who made this and eat it! My friend who mentioned it (names not mentioned to protect the guilty) also suggested the restaurant, Catch, as a possible tweet-up venue, so we went over there for lunch.

Some hush puppies to pick on while we pondered the menu.

Soups: My friend had corn and crab bisque (above), and I had oysters rockefeller soup (below).

The oyster soup was definitely the better of the two, but it should be noted that I'm partial to creamy oyster soups in general.

My friend had the aforementioned pizza as her main, and I had Catch's version of char-grilled oysters. Theirs are quite the orgy of butter and parmesan cheese! Lots of delicious sauce for dipping. Based on the excellence of the crabmeat pizza, and the looks of several fish dishes that came out to other tables, I didn't make the best entree choice I could have. Char-grilled oysters are better as a starter, and this kitchen is up to the more challenging dishes. Still, one can't go wrong with a butter-cheese-garlic overdose occasionally.

Just iced tea and water to drink for this outing--a pity, too, because those oysters clamored for beer.

Overall, lunch was a winner! The atmosphere at Catch is bright and airy.  Service was attentive and polite without being oppressive.

We'll be back for a tweet-up at the spacious bar, too.
