A Tale of Two Muffs

The muffuletta is a New Orleans classic. Here are two variations we've had recently:

Giorlando's Restaurant on Bonnabel and Veterans in Metry does the classic muff, on round Italian bread.

East of Italy is an Italian place located in the strip mall at Franklin Avenue and Leon C. Simon Blvd. in Gentilly, near the Rouses supermarket. They use their own foccacia bread instead of the classic round loaf.

In addition to the bread, the ingredients have to be up to snuff, and both of these were not bad at all.

The 2nd is disqualified from my Muff hunt by being on foccacia, but is the first a contender?

the second is disqualified because it was just OK, too. Giorlando's should be a contender, though.
